Nonetheless
The virginity of a white leather bag and clutch after an excessive use reflects texture of life specific to each personality. Nothing more need to be added to a beautiful material than the traces of existence. For these works R.O.E. refers to a technique in the art world commonly known as “frottage”, a term which originates from the French “frotter” meaning “to rub”. This technique is an automatic method of a creative production resolving in a beautiful object with a nice patina.

The photograph shows the model wearing an ornamental neckband from the 2017 collection and a deconstructed vintage leather jacket with silk airbrushed lining from the 2016 collection.
The drawings on the silk lining are airbrushed by LUCIEN and the R.O.E. staff with a palm tree lemonade when the fall came down.

CRADLE IN, CRADLE OUT
Royalty Of Exile presents “Cradle In, Cradle Out”, a film by Tim Onderbeke.
The footage is designed to be played in a loop and has to be conceived as a spatial intervention. The intention is that the film can be experienced by the viewer as a moving sculpture. Instead of the viewer moving around the sculpture, the sculpture moves around the viewer. It allows a person to be more aware of the negative space where one moves in and around.

INDUSTRY UNTITLED
Collection 2014 came across while watching Interviews with P.P. Pasolini.
The question “what is the value of things” intrigued me when in a gallery I sold a series of paintings titled “Love Smells Like Death”. While working in my studio using the same technique as the series from the ones I did before, I started using cotton canvas and instead of stretching them on a frame I made shirts out of the canvasses. The pattern these shirts refer to old Egyptian clothes. Additional within the same spirit i made a suede leather pants, a t-shirt, a sweater and a wheelchair to complete the collection R.O.E. 2014.

LUSH FOR LASHES
What happens when the river runs out of water? Confessions turning into blame and the city turns into darkness. To reveal the moment of doubt I decided to bring you “Lush for Lashes”. A white silk veil which I gave life and energy within the process of work as an artist. It is by far the best work I made in the past three years. The veil its function is to simply reveil all moments, objects, people, mountains, stars, ideas and especially emotions. Reveal the things in life that we intend to oppress.

Mnemosyne: goddess of memory smiles at her latest child. an act of love, intuition returns it kindred and real to our embrace. Ambiguous smiles of all beauties and hence of all loves, from the sleeshy and secret to the abstract and cool. A brilliant operation but for less usual than is commonly claimed. Natural beauty, desire for harmony and participation in the shared rhytms of life and finally love for beauty in all extra-aesthetic, hedonistic and economic senses that often interlace and with changing preferences brought opportunity of more or less conscious poetry as one with the imitation of nature. A beautiful form for the thirst of senses. The practical and everyday need to reproduce beauty guarantees a dual immortality. An evocation through representing a person by magical means.
